Bloomfield School

Early this morning, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency responded to a 3 alarm fire at the long vacant Bloomfield School. There have been no injuries reported.

The site has been part of many proposals over the years. In 2021, HRM sold the site to Banc Group with a 5-year buy-back agreement if nothing is constructed. HRFE classified the site as an immediate fire risk in 2023. Banc Group has stated they have no plans to demolish the buildings.

Banc Group is currently building The Interchange , Lock Suites and The Elevation on Robie (a block from Bloomfield).
